I can hear you saying ,"Hey! There's more than ten books on this guy's so-called Top Ten list." And you'd be right.
I plead guilty to having lied about that (a useful quality for a writer, by the way). The reason I did (uh oh, here comes
the big rationale) is that there are a lot more than ten excellent (or at least pretty damn good) books out there about screenwriting.
These "Ten" (I know, I know, you counted 15, so sue me) simply happen to be ones that I think are both useful and
interesting reading. You have to choose for yourself, and you should choose a bunch. Read as many of them as you can; it's
impossible to know too much about this business. None of these fine books really have all the answers (if there even is such
a thing as all the answers), but they each do have some good ideas that can help you in your own work. And that's what counts.
