Screenwriting is a CRAFT.
It's also a difficult BUSINESS. Sometimes, it can also be an ART.
WE ALL HAVE A MOVIE SOMEWHERE
INSIDE US... The question is how do we get it out and make it work? That's what this is all about.
Writing can be the hardest, most demanding,
most frustrating work, but it is also the most joyful, challenging and most rewarding profession
in the world.

This site was created for those who, like me,
have an incurable fascination with movies, especially in writing for them. It includes as many items as we could think of
that we thought could be of value to both movie addicts and screenwriters. So, whether you are an earnest novice or an experienced
veteran, we're here to serve you. Much of our focus has been on the Scriptwriting Classes being offered
now and in the near future. But there is much more. A number of useful items have been added for the benefit of both new and
experienced writers, including an extensive bibliography of books on screenwriting, lists of trade publications, writers organizations,
available produced scripts, downloadable files, and other information. All of the material and the services
being offered here are designed to help you develop and refine your skills, as well as increase your awareness of the most
crucial aspects of both the craft and the business of screenwriting.
In the Beginning are (always) the Words...

WHAT'S NEW with SG2?
NEW CLASSES: There is a new series for Spring & Summer '08. Click on the SCHEDULE button in the column at the left for
specific dates and times.
FREE SEMINAR: Given from time to time, these 2-hour sessions on a Saturday afternoon will show you some of the secrets
of screenwriting and what Scriptguy2 is all about. Next one is Feb. 16th.
ON THE WEB: We have made major changes to the website to make it more comprehensive and easier to use. Browse through
it and let us know what you think.
DISCOUNTS: We have adjusted the fee schedule so that those taking more than one class can now save from 10% to 30%. Click
on the CLASS FEES button to see the details.
SPECIAL RATE FOR FORMER STUDENTS: Some people have taken one or another of our courses and found it useful (and/or enjoyable)
enough that they'd like to do it again. Now those who wish to REPEAT any previous class may do so for HALF PRICE!

SPECIAL ADVANCED WORKSHOP YET TO COME: We have
had to postpone the long-promised special Advanced Screenwriting Workshop for this Summer. This is a Master Class for those
who qualify. Enrollment is strictly limited to six students, and acceptance is based on experience and level of work submitted.
The Workshop is being planned now, and its schedule will be announced shortly. Students must have completed a full screenplay
and taken sufficient classes to acquire the skills needed for this intensive 10-week course. A page on the Advanced Workshop
will be added to the website in the near future. Look for it. If you are an eligible writer and have questions or simply an
interest in being part of this Special Workshop, please feel free to contact us.
LEARNING IN CYBERSPACE: We're considering making some courses available online, and would like to have your input. What courses
would you like to see online? Have you ever taken a course online? How did it go? How long did it take and what did it cost?
Were you satisfied with the results? Put your comments and suggestions, if any, in an email and let's see what might be worth
doing.

PLEASE NOTE:
This site (and some pages in particular) is a work
in progress. A few pages aren't quite finished, or
still need to be added, or have new links made.
And it's happening. Constantly. It's all to make it
as accessible and easy to use as we can, while still providing as much information as possible. The whole
idea, like the classes themselves, is to try and make
it work effectively for you. Like your writing should.

Our objective is simple:
to help you succeed
as a screenwriter.
THIS IS
A SPACER
MASTER
CLASS
working online
Since one of our
classrooms last
year was next to
a 12-step group,
I thought we should
borrow and paraphrase
one of their aphorisms
as a motto for writers:
ONE PAGE
AT A TIME
